These people under Merrick Garland seemed to have no supervision
Many people have probably never interacted with an assistant US Attorney (AUSA), so they may not be aware of the power they have. If you read my suggested book The Gotti Wars, you would have seen they have power to shape a federal grand jury, be in charge of investigations, and can ruin lives. So, for them to be out of control is bad for everyone. Going through the DOJ OIG reports, this is exactly what it seems. You most likely understand what FBI special agents are.
If you do not believe in the lawfare that occurred against Trump and his allies, this should still worry you about how criminal cases were handled by the DOJ. These people seemed to be out of control. Now, these are just 2 cases that will be highlighted in this video. There are many others, but that would take hours to cover.
Discrimination and Harassment
Here, via a DOJ OIG report, is how an AUSA treated people.
https://oig.justice.gov/sites/default/files/reports/25-004.pdf
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) initiated this investigation upon the receipt of information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) alleging that an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) sexually harassed an FBI employee and a Special Agent in Charge (SAC) failed to make a mandatory referral of harassment allegations to the FBI Inspection Division (INSD). During the course of the investigation, the OIG found indications that the ASAC may have harassed a second FBI employee, may have discriminated against an applicant to the FBI based on the applicant’s disability, and may have lacked candor under oath during an OIG interview.
The OIG substantiated the allegations that the ASAC sexually harassed an FBI employee, harassed a second FBI employee, discriminated against an applicant to the FBI based on the applicant’s disability, and lacked candor with the OIG, in violation of FBI policy. The OIG also substantiated the allegations that the SAC failed to properly report harassment allegations to FBI INSD, in violation of FBI policy.
Sex with a criminal
Here, via another report, is more unethical behavior.
https://oig.justice.gov/sites/default/files/reports/25-003.pdf
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) initiated an investigation after receiving information from a local police department that an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) had used his government issued mobile device to engage in extensive sexually-explicit and sexually-oriented communications with an individual, who later became the target of a police investigation.
The OIG investigation substantiated the allegation that the AUSA exchanged numerous inappropriate, sexually-explicit and sexually-oriented text messages with the individual using the AUSA’s government-issued mobile device, in violation of DOJ policy and federal ethics regulations. The OIG also found that the AUSA left the AUSA’s office during work hours for a sexual encounter with the individual, in violation of federal ethics regulations. The OIG concluded that the AUSA engaged in conduct prejudicial to the government and created the appearance of violating the law by continuing to interact with the individual, including by using the AUSA’s government-issued device, after the individual had provided indications to the AUSA that the individual was engaged in illegal activity.
Does this seem like the DOJ was being run right?
