One candidate shows how awful the GOP is handling Virginia elections
As I have already said in a video, the Virginia GOP hierarchy has completely failed at being able to handle elections in the state. They are being helped by the RNC in handling candidates, as is shown how they advised Virginia district 7 US Representative candidate Derrick Anderson, who should have been a dream candidate.

The New York Times did an article on GOP candidates showing their family values through their family. The problem is, Anderson was filmed and photographed with a woman and 3 girls that were not his family. He is engaged, but not to the woman in the pictures. This was also the case in a National Republican Campaign Committee ad. Where was Anderson's campaign manager? Where were any of his staff?
The Race
Since the election is over, I can tell you that Anderson lost to Eugene Vindman. Vindman was part of the Ukraine call controversy that ended up before Congress, so he was attractive to the Democrat Party. This should mean that the GOP should bring their top abilities for the open seat, especially with such a strong candidate. Instead, he lost by a little over 8 thousand votes, most likely helped by this controversy.
Here, via https://soaa.org/team/derrick-anderson-virginia/, is his biography.
Derrick Anderson was raised in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Upon graduation, Derrick enrolled at Virginia Tech in the Corp of Cadets, making him the first person in his family to attend and graduate college. While his Army ROTC scholarship allowed him to pay for college, his commitment to serve was rooted in his family’s long history of military service and his father’s proximity across the street from the World Trade Center buildings on September 11, 2001. Derrick graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a B.S. in Political Science (Legal Option) and immediately commissioned into the United States Army as an Infantry Officer. After completing Ranger school, and less than a year since being in college, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division as a Platoon Leader where he deployed for 15 months in support of “the Surge” in Iraq.
Derrick also served as a Platoon Leader with the 3rd Infantry Regiment “The Old Guard” in Arlington National Cemetery, where he competed in the Best Ranger Competition in 2009 and 2010. After completion of the Special Forces Qualifications Course, Derrick became an A-Team leader in the Green Berets and served as a Detachment Commander for two Special Forces teams and the Company Executive Officer for two companies over the course of five deployments to Afghanistan, Bahrain, Jordan, Israel, and Lebanon. Following his time in the Army, Derrick graduated with his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2019. He then clerked for two separate federal judges, where he worked on a variety of civil and criminal cases.
Seriously, how could you mishandle this campaign so badly? He should have been a dream candidate and would have broke through the Northern Virginia Democrat stranglehold.

So, to the Republicans in Virginia, there seems to be a need to change leadership in the state, as they do not know how to advise candidates in any manner.
