A little fact checking on Helene victims having people trying to steal their land.
People need to understand the resources that have been discovered in the Appalachian region to know why people are worried about major corporations coming in to buy land after Helene. There are many resources there, and most people may not know all that can be gotten by removing people that have had their families living there for 2 centuries. All of this has a far better chance of happening with what occurred, so, we are going to discuss what resources are there and why the rumors are happening.
Oil
While the report here does not have a lot of oil or gas in the region affected by Helene, there is some. Getting these resources would not be a major push, but there is some in the regions further north.
Marble
While this is not a major resource in the eyes of many, look around people’s homes. Marble, granite, and other building style stones are big business, so people need to realize that major corporations are going to want to have control of these.
Quartz

Two large companies already have a presence in the western North Carolina and east Tennessee areas, so people know the use and quality of the quartz from that region. For most, quartz is just a pretty crystal, but it is essential for quite a bit of the modern technology people are using.
Lithium

Many people have been discussing the lithium that has been found around Appalachia, but they may not have studied where it is most prevalent. The biggest amount is closer to the coal mining region, specifically in West Virginia, Ohio, and the surrounding area. That means that collection was not affected by Helene. There is an area in North Carolina, but it is less Appalachia and more Piedmont. While affected by Helene, mostly it was some power outages, not the damage done in the mountains.
Many people are also aware of the coal that is all throughout the Appalachian region, but this is made an unstable choice to control because of the Democrat Party and the appendages of it that constantly attack the industry. That means the resources covered here are the most valuable to the big money interests, which can lead to them offering pennies on the dollar for land. That said, the rednecks and hillbillies in that area are less inclined to trust this, as people still talk about land bought by carpetbaggers after the Civil War.
People need to consider these resources, though. There are other ways to make money in those mountains, so it is just a bit of information for everyone. While land stealing would be far more difficult in this region, it may happen. So, any in the area, or have family and friends there, get the word out just in case.
